JULY 4TH, 2010 – FIREWORKS IN SEOUL

Update: My friends and I headed to the National Museum of Korea to see the fireworks.  If you go in the main entrance and up the stairs to the top platform of the museum this platform overlooks the parks behind the museum this is actually a great place to see the fireworks!

Sorry I am posting this such last-minute but all week I have been trying to figure out where to see fireworks for the 4th of July and I finally have confirmation.

Yongsan Garrison, the Army base, does set off fireworks.  They will start tonight, Sunday, July 4th, 2010 around dusk which is approximately 9pm.  You can only get onto the base if you get an invite and know some military friends.

If you don’t have access to the base:

I have been told that you can see the fireworks from outside the base in the surrounding area and that the fields behind the National Museum of Korea are a good place to sit and see them.

It is supposed to be a pretty good display so I recommend going!

(PS: Like always, first year in Korea so this info is from word of mouth and I can’t guarantee it to be 100% accurate!)
